Zen Meditation

Led by Matt Shinkai Kane:
Tuesday & Thursdays 7 – 8 am
Zen is strongly associated with group practice. Having the opportunity to be with others on the same path is tremendously beneficial. There is time for guidance for beginners and some teaching. We typically do two 25 minute periods of seated meditation with some walking meditation in between. There is no charge. We operate on freely given donations.

Sundays 5:30 – 7 pm
Zen is strongly associated with group practice. Having the opportunity to be with others on the same path is tremendously beneficial. This session is our main weekly meeting, and there is time for guidance for beginners and some teaching. We begin with a short dharma talk followed by zazen (seated meditation) with an opportunity for sanzen (private Zen interview) until around 7pm. We then have an optional informal tea time finishing around 7:15 or so. There is no charge. We operate on freely given donations.

Fridays 7:30-8:30pm
Zen is strongly associated with group practice. Having the opportunity to practice with others on the same path is tremendously beneficial. On Fridays we introduce various meditation practices, energy exercises, and self-healing practices of our tradition. We typically do two periods of practice with some walking meditation in between. Good for beginners! There is no charge. We operate on freely given donations.
